SCENARIO A: STARBUCKS
[Normally, Jaime didn't consider himself a coffee person. Starbucks was great every now and then, especially on cold, rainy days... but he didn't really know why he was here at the moment. Not beyond a sudden craving for a frappuccino and one of those scones. (He supposed it was enough to head over there; after all, why else would people go?)
Too bad that everything was totally and completely SOLD OUT.
Jaime stares at the menu for what feels like forever before facepalming and sighing:] Go figure. The one day I wanted some too...!
SCENARIO B: BORING LECTURE, RANDOM COLLEGE
[He knows he shouldn't be bored. He needs to pass this class in order to fulfill pre-med requirements and he really needs to listen to this lecture so that he can pass the test next week...
But right now? He wants to be anywhere but here. It's obvious from his blank stare and the doodles all over his notebook, and he knows it.

SCENARIO C: MOVIE THEATER
[After he'd broken up with Traci, Jaime hadn't visited the movies often. Something about going to them alone felt kind of lame---and since he couldn't do double dates with Paco and Brenda anymore, it wasn't worth going with them. He felt like an awkward third wheel, especially when they headed to lame chick flicks.
Yet somehow, he found himself headed towards the ticket counter anyways. Maybe it was because he was buying tickets for a friend, or maybe because he was just that desperate to see that new action flick...
Point is, he's there. And shelling out cash for some tickets. Upside? At least he's not going to a chick flick.]
