I bought a hoodie for my boyfriend from this site, hoping that it would show up before he went on vacation but also not really 100% expecting it, since it was shipping here from Canada. There have been 2 Sundays since I placed my order, and there was probably a lag of one or two days between ordering and shipping, but I think even then, this item should have arrived by now. I will be tetchy if it arrives later than today, since I paid extra for 6-8 day shipping instead of the customary 2-3 weeks. Now, I've been on the other side of shipping things internationally (at my last job, for a little under a year, I spent every Tuesday and Friday afternoon with a stack of books as tall as me, standing in line at the post office, fingers ink-stained with filling out so many customs forms and hands grimy from handling oft-used mail bags), so I know items can get lost and fast delivery is never as fast as the person on the other side of the order wants. I am just getting impatient, since my boyfriend returned to me more quickly than the item arrived.
I will make the order's not showing up yet to him with a rock-paper-scissors-lizard-Spock shirt, ordered this morning from ThinkGeek and set to arrive by Saturday.
In other news, I thumbed through the last chapter and a few pages of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and read the "discussion questions" in the back. It is incredibly douchey, on the face of it, but Lady Catherine does have a fleet of ninjas at her disposal, so I'm going to stick with it. It remains to be seen whether this will be a super fun experience or become another Lo's Diary situation.
My boyfriend also came home bearing Superman I-IV. I don't think I've seen III since I hit age 10. I remember being confused by Richard Pryor and something about coal being compressed into a diamond. I wonder what other weirdo things I've forgotten. I will find out soon! Next: get my hands on a copy of the live-action Supergirl movie. Ha.
My company's new health insurance provider operates an associated website for mental health; it provides information and self-help tools. I logged on yesterday and took a look at a fairly comprehensive tool set for managing anxiety, took some of the quizzes and did some exercises. I plan on using it a few times a week.
Kinda hurt my ankle doing pilates the other night. I will be skipping that portion of the workout when I do the exercises again tonight.
