Dogs: Bones has gotten clingy in the mornings. She used to just go back to bed with Spock as soon as they ate and went outside, but she's started to come into the computer lab (where I spend a great deal of my at-home early morning) to say hi, want to get up in my lap, be a bit whiny, and eventually settle down in my boyfriend's office chair. Sweet girl. I've been trying to build up her confidence and be very sweet to her in part to cure her of her fear of linoleum, which appears to be working - the other day, she did trot down the hallway down the middle of the house without a problem. All I know is, I'm grateful for every step forward to normal doghood (or acceptable dog behavior) that she takes, as she seems to be happier for it, not to mention it makes it a lot easier to live with her in the house.
Homemaking: I was a domestic machine last night. I cleaned the kitchen, fed the dogs, put away clean dishes and ran through a new load, tried a new omelet recipe (it was tasteless and bordered on epic fail), and made 4 loaves of the dreaded Amish friendship bread.
Making the bread was a lot easier my third time around, now that I ensure I have all my ingredients on hand, am more adept at pouring goop into a ziploc bag and not making a complete mess around the plastic seal, and used the electric mixer. I must hate myself for having mixed by hand the last two batches. The kitchen was damn near spotless (from the counters up) when it was all said and done.
My cleaning ambitions stopped, however, at sweeping up the mud the dogs have tracked into the house during the recent rainy weather and mopping the remainder into oblivion. Lego Star Wars was calling to me. Must find all the red bricks.
Piano: There is a possibility of me taking piano lessons again. One of my boyfriend's coworkers, blah blah, we'll be in contact soon. I've mostly forgotten how to read music and haven't touched my keyboard in ages, so structured lessons will be quite good for me.
