Yesterday was great. I got up early, paid all my bills and got my budget in order, bought party supplies, and made it to work early for the first time in weeks. Photography, laughter, hitting people with swords, buckets of candy and ice cream - all these things and a 4-hour meeting to split up among my 3 coworkers and me, too. We had one trick-or-treater last night.

I've been up since 7:30 this morning, thanks to the dogs. So far today, I've ordered shoes online (these, hoping they'll be as awesome and long-lasting as my Clarks sandals have been), ran some errands, bought way too much Halloween candy (I found 2 bags of pumpkin spice Hershey's Kisses to bring to work, mwahaha), started epic laundry quest, and played some Lego Batman (so much fun).

Now I'm looking for something else to do on my Saturday night, and I'm thinking I want to go to a coffeeshop. Sadly, I think the coffeeshop I want to go to is one that only exists now in my college memories, The Ugly Mug, a coffeeshop that had great atmosphere, books, games, couches for studying, a stage, and good coffee. I guess I could go to the Starbucks in the nearby Tom Thumb, but it's just not the same.

Meh. I will probably just go curl up in a corner of the house with my annotated Pride & Prejudice, unless I can find a Barnes & Noble within 10 miles of where I live. Heh.

Stoled from Raj: off the top of my head, five things I miss:

  • The Ugly Mug/CK's coffeeshops
  • Cruising with my hometown friends and learning how to drive
  • Listening to In Utero in my darkened bedroom where I had glow-in-the-dark stars stuck to the ceiling
  • Cats (Chewy, Tilly, Francis Marion, Bandit, possibly Tink and J)
  • Nights at GSP, a pre-HS-senior-year summer program that was like a preview of college

nostalgia, halloweens, fashion, friends, literature
