On the subject of habits and fleshing out characters

Anyways, I'm working on Loop, and I just decided to write this out. One of my favorite ways to distinguish characters is to give them little habits, it's just kind of fun. I also like catching hints of them in the actual canon and such. I'm weird, I know.
So, this is a little list of fun little traits I like to assign to the boys. Cause why not.
Kaito:
-Drools in his sleep.
-Also in sleep, tosses and turns all over the place when he sleeps alone. Sleeps better when someone's with him, but is a voracious snuggler in his sleep because of it. Isn't really aware of it.
-Due to being Kid, bad shocks and other surprises make him freeze and hold his breath. He has to remind himself to start again.
-Always has to be doing something with his hands. If it's not magic tricks, it's idle card shuffling. Failing that, it's tapping his fingers or pencil. Yes, Kaito is the guy who incessantly drums his fingers or otherwise holds mini drum concerts with his writing implements against the desk when taking a test. If his hands are still, he'll start tapping his foot. He basically has to be in movement all the time, even while in deep thought.
-Really enjoys good food in all its forms. Has a special place for chocolate and other sweets, of course, but, in line with his natural hedonism, he really likes good food and likes eating. Would weigh a lot more if he wasn't constantly moving and working out or otherwise being a jittery calorie waster. Always has some form of snacks on him or in his mouth.
-Doesn't really like being dirty or getting things on him, especially his hands, so he's surprisingly naturally fastidious about himself. As long as he knows where everything is and nothing is getting on him, though, he couldn't give less of a damn about his surroundings, so people think he's messy.
-Can't cook. Finds recipes boring, so he tries to make up variations as he goes along and it generally results in an unholy mess.
Shinichi:
-Bites his nails when he's nervous. He trained himself out of it, but it will come back when he's really stressed or frustrated.
-Likes sleep more than he lets on. Not a heavy sleeper like Ran, but he'll sleep for long hours if uninterrupted.
-Just doesn't eat a lot. Most of the time he forgets and has to be forced to eat, but he wouldn't eat much even if he did remember. He finds the voracious appetites of other teens weird.
-Hates being hot. Actually kind of hates the beach, and doesn't like going outside when it's hot, preferring to stay in and read in the air conditioning. But beaches all around he really doesn't like - they're sandy, hot, and have too many people. (I actually got this from canon - aside from Ran in a bikini, Conan is supremely unimpressed every time they go to the beach, and in fact in at least one time has to be dragged from the shore under the umbrella down to the water by Ran.) He does like swimming, though, he just wishes it wasn't feasible only when hot outside.
-His sense of style isn't bad, he just doesn't care. He tends to pick the first things that are clean and fit to wear since spending more time thinking about it is a waste in his mind. When he is forced to put thought into it, he dresses quite nicely.
-Is actually pretty good at keeping house. He doesn't like messes so he naturally keeps his house clean, it only suffers if he's distracted. Even before his parents moved out he was the one who cleaned most of the time. He can also cook, he just doesn't care about the presentation of the food. As long as it arrives on the table tasting good, he's fine with it, no matter how it looks, so people think he's a worse cook than he is.
-Is very much the consummate observer. He can get lost for hours just watching people or things that catch his interest. He's the sort that's always looking off to the side suddenly because something interesting caught his eye. This leads him to a lot of cases since he naturally investigates something interesting and out-of-place he noticed. It's often pretty frustrating to his associates since he'll wander off to watch or poke something shiny at a moment's notice. He has laserlike focus on whatever's caught his attention, but this leads to him being easily distracted and caught up by things that attract that focus, leading to a lot of conversations stopping mid-sentence as he focuses on something else. Would be a good artist and/or writer if he tried.
