Holy Shit! Ladies Poncho!

I want to make a poncho. Crochet or knit. It has to be plain and monochromatic. Not lacy because holes aren't warm. No "make a rectangle and seam it up" because those end up with one gimpy corner. Preferably dk weight. Recommendations anybody? A wrap or cape would be okay, too. Drapey is nice. Patterns are nice, but not necessary. I can work from a photo.
