1. Pheonix (the album Wolfgang Amadeus Pheonix came out earlier this year)
If at first you don't like them, try try again. The band, which hails from France, is heavily addictive. And fun fact: one of the band members is married to Sofia Coppola. I religiously listen to the songs "Lisztomania" and "1901" in the morning and am sure to walk into work with a bounce to my step.
2. Black Moth Super Rainbow
Psychedelic indie pop at its finest. Almost as strange as "Air" their new album Eating Us (2009) kicks ass and will take you away to your deep and dark happy place. Yes, there is such a thing. Listen to it and you'll know what I mean.
3. Whitest Boy Alive
It's the vocalist from the band Kings of Convenience who I used to listen to a lot in the year 2005 or so. My one complaint about Kings of Convenience was always that it was too slow. Whitest Boy takes it up a notch with their upbeat pop that it not too in your face. You'll recognize his voice as "that dude from Royksopp" as the band featured him in a couple of songs.
