121... black hole sun

If anyone has a strange rash or wound that is growing black, or oozing black pus, immediately wrap it up and do not come into contact with anyone else. It is highly contagious and will attack anyone with a weaken immune system. Might already be too late...Any questions, you can contact myself, Reeve, Reno, or Cissnei ( Read more... )

My roommate's infected. We're in a cabin out by the forest, so we're quarantine-able. I talked to Reeve and Anita - is there anything else I need to know?

...how long does this take before...

It all depends on how strong they are. I wish I can give you an exact time... but I've known people to be sick for months while others die within a matter of days.

Days? Christ. Ok.

Yeah.

Maybe there's someone from another world here that might be able to cure everyone before then.

Hope's what got us through it the last time.

...Sorry, I'm not good at this public thing.

S'OK. I don't think there's a good way to do this.

I'm Rachel, by the way.

I won't say it's a pleasure, but I do feel better knowing there are people here who at least know what the hell this thing is.

Doesn't make it easier to hear other people catching it, especially here.

Maybe we got everyone isolated in time, maybe it won't spread anymore than it already has?

I hope so. Back home... it nearly killed off half of the world before we managed to slow it down.

Wow, even the Legacy Virus didn't do that much damage, and it was mostly constrained to the mutant population by design. But then there's the Black Plague, but was pre-industrial so the comparison's not as valid.

...Christ, I've been reading up on this stuff too much, I'm starting to sound scholarly.

If you want the simple version - it's the body's reaction to an invading living alien force trying to take over the cells. Basically a celluar alien invasion.

...not a sentient alien cellular invasion, though, right?

...IF you put it that way... sort of.
