I've fought his Jenova-clones, I fought his remnants, and I've fought him. The levels are different in each case but they were all trying to kill me. I know I wasn't going all out. I wasn't sure about you.

I sincerely doubt my purpose here is to be a new Sephiroth to your attempt to be the Hero. That was his role, not yours.

One could debate that it wasn't his fault, but that's not a discussion I care to engage in or debate. Sephiroth's role was that of the Hero much as Angeal's was the one who was captured.

I think it was more a case of needing to define yourself compared to another.
