i've been listening to this audiobook (from audible.com) while knitting:

i love it! i can't believe i waited so long to read this. the neat thing is that i always thought audrey niffenegger's name was familiar. it wasn't until i was cleaning my room over the weekend and going through old papers and things that i realized why. i found a postcard from her art show she had at my university about five years ago and remembered that she was a visiting artist whom we got to meet and spend time with, and i absolutely fell in love with her that day.
she teaches here, at columbia college in chicago. i remember being really inspired by her that day. she was working on this book and had plates and prints from it:
it made me happy to discover the connection...
