( Anyone else love the scene  in Fast Five where Brian and Vince are arguing and Dom tells Brian to walk it off and Brian looks for a second then does what he’s told, love submissive Brian hehehe.  Also the father scene where Brian says he never had a father, Dom’s expression is heart quivering gah!)

Brian and Dom are playing a game of poker on the porch of their ocean house, it’s been a long time since either of them had played...in the last week. Even though they were well out of the way of anyone looking for them they still couldn’t shake the feeling of what most fugitives feel: cagey and ready to flee at any moment. It took a month for everything to sink in, for them all to relax and enjoy the peaceful life.

Mia made friends with some of the locals and works at one of the small family owned diners.

The refreshing ocean breeze was a pain in the ass trying to play cards but they worked around it, setting beer bottles on the cards they wouldn’t be using. Some of the cards had beer bottle rings around them which could be helpful in a game if you could try and remember the cards that had a particular water stain circle on it. Dom couldn’t remember what cards had which but he’s been having the growing suspicion that Brian is remembering them.

“Royal Flush.” Dom puts his hand down and smiles at the look of shock on Brian’s face.

Brian shakes his head and doesn’t even show Dom his hand before shuffling them in with the other cards. He takes some of his cash from his pile and hands it to Dom who takes it graciously and puts it in his ever growing pile.

It was one of the few enjoyable things they have been doing down here. They always play with the same amount of cash starting at a grand, and usually the longer they would play the more beer they would drink usually resulting in a quick ‘I’m all in’ to finish the game. Sometimes the game would get so intense it would last for days, and sometimes Mia would join… they learned quick not underestimate her.

“I don’t know what’s with your winning streak lately…” Brian frowns and goes to take a sip of beer when they hear their front door being slammed open.

They both bolt up from their chairs taking out their weapons they always have on them, Brian looks over at Dom and points at the door motioning Dom to follow his lead. No time to panic, only enough time to think.

Brian quickly opens the screen door, one hand still holding his gun looking around. Dom backs him up aiming his gun where Brian’s isn’t. They crouch and move their way quietly against the walls, then stop to hear for any noises.

This had happened before which resulted in a very frightened local who was dropping off some island fruits for Mia, poor women almost shit her pants. Which was why they started locking the door, and it was locked until now.

They hear heavy footsteps in the kitchen and Brian looks back at Dom who nods.

Brian, gun raised and ready to fire storms into the kitchen with Dom following prepared to kill. They stop to a halt when they see the massive man standing in the kitchen who isn’t facing them, but they know that body anywhere.

“Hobbs?”

They don’t lower their weapons, and Hobbs turns around.

“You two are very hard to find.” Hobbs breath is heavy, sweat practically pouring from his face.

Brian looks at the kitchen floor, a puddle of sweat forming on the floor, Brian raises an eyebrow a look of utter perplexity crosses his face when he realizes its Luke’s sweat, which is still dripping. He looks over at Dom who looks crossed between blasting the man in the face and laughing in his face, he'd probably end up doing both.

Brian lowers his gun, “Are you okay? You’re really sweating…”

“Don’t change the subject O’Conner!” Hobbs barks, sweat spraying from his lips.

Hobbs isn’t even glaring at them, more because he can’t because the sweat is getting into his eyes. Dom sighs and lowers his gun as well while Brian walks over to the towel rack and throws a towel at Hobbs who’s trying to get the sweat out of his eyes with his hands.

The towel hits the unaware Hobbs in the face making him flinch; Dom lets out a loud laugh.

Hobbs looks down and picks up the towel immediately bringing it to his face.

“Shut up Toretto!” Is heard through the towel Hobbs is wiping his face with.

Brian has to bite his bottom lip to stop from laughing, he knows this can turn ugly really fast so he stands at the ready trying to be serious, the man did just invade their home. Focus, O’Conner, focus!

Two minutes later and Dom is leaning against the kitchen counter with his arms folded staring his bored and tired gaze at Hobbs, who is still wiping at his continuous sweating face, while Brian is sitting hunched over in a kitchen chair with his hands through his hair, possibly asleep.

Hobbs lets out a loud deliberate cough, indicating he’s done, waking up Brian who stands up stretching and Dom stands up taller each taking out their gun again.

“All set, Mr.Sweat?” Dom asks.

Brian can’t help it anymore and laughs.
