Movie in Review: Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2), 9-18-2004

Milla Jovovich is awesome. I don't care what movie she's in, she's the greatest female kicker of butt ever. This movie had a nice pace of guns, hand to hand, and athletic combat. It's also noteworthy that the combat isn't so extreme that the physics don't work(as in many movies released post-MATRIX). The actors did a grade A job. Even supporting bit-roles were casted well. The story was nice. The scare factor was about par for the 'school section.' This movie also LOOKED GOOD.

I suppose I was a little silly to think that the movie would end. Well... it did end, but it left the same 'to be continued' feeling as the first one. It's an awesome marketing strategy... but I'm kind of sad that you never get any closure anymore. This movie wasn't exceedingly deep and it didn't have any *great* plot twists. I felt like renting a 'thinker' when I got out of the theater.

IN CLOSING: 7/10 - It's one to see in the theaters... but it doesn't leave a lasting impression. Give it a couple of weeks and you'll forget all about it.
