Don't Ask Me Why...
....but I'm thinking of starting an LJ community for people in long engagements.
Just for fun, I added "long engagements" and then, "being engaged" to my interests, to see if maybe I could find a community for long engagements in particular. There were none. The closest I came was one called "Brides2Be," which was specifically for people who were, well, brides to be. I thought that was all well and good, but I don't think I want to become part of that community. I'd be stuck there for three years, watching women come and go. Not cool.
So I was thinking, what about girls and guys who may be dealing with long engagements? It can drive you crazy if you don't have anyone to talk to about it. I know I get so sad sometimes, you know? Three years seems long enough away to make this whole thing seem unreal. I catch myself saying to someone that I'll be married to Robert, and it doesn't sound real because it's so far away.
There's all this impatience, this worry...I'd love to give other people a place to go to talk about that.
Lemme amend that....a place to talk about it where they won't have to worry about their friends disappearing in a week or so.
*shrug* It's an idea. I'll think more on it, but I think I may do it. If no one joins, I can just talk to myself.
