so in ling class today we talked about ebonics, A.K.A. AAE or African American English and yeah things got heated
except no one agreed with me because i guess everyone in my class is a condenscending BLEEDING heart liberal.
these are probably the same fuckers who believe agree with affirmative action.
anyways we were talking about the controversy with Oakland school districts. They want to teach it to teachers to help them not only understand the students, but teach them proper english.
Of course if you know me well enough, i say fuck that. So i went back and forth with the prof and other students stating my points and the prof was constantly shutting me down. After i told her that ebonics is not its own language, (people were comparing it with mexicans speaking spanish)
she told me if she were an administrator she wouldn't hire me as a teacher, yeah HI.
of course i cant expect a class chock full of white kids living in OREGON to truly understand where I am coming from. People whos only contact with black people is someone on tv or a rapper. not a REAL LIVE black person who has struggled with 'fitting in' with the black people who speak terrible english.
Fuck that yeah lets let those black people know that we are totally backing their decision to make ebonics a language....we just wont offer them a decent job if they do. If its such a language how come there is no possible way to make it sound REMOTELY formal or intelligent.
and some chick was like "well not everyone had a GOOD edcuation like you did"---um im sorry my family isnt fucking ignorant and they raised me speaking standard english.
the bottom line is:
NO ONE is going to be impressed by the fact that you are 'bilingual' ---in english and ebonics
why is it that black people need to be babied throughout life and treated like subhumans...first affirmative action now THIS?- do asians get treated this way?
NO ONE will hire you if thats how you speak- even those liberals who felt bad for you in middle school
They don't want to change these kids because they feel bad for them.....they just want the huge academic/professoinal gap between blacks and everyone else to endure.
