Viral marketing

I normally don't post to communities, because I feel kind of weird doing so.  And also, I haven't been able to be very involved due to a whole plethora of things taking place this summer.

But i was talking to
spadada via email re: an idea I had and she encouraged me to post.  So here I am.

It involved viral marketing -- specifically doing something that ties in with the She's Watching You website.  I liked the idea that I saw posted somewhere about putting that URL everywhere: bumper stickers, online profiles, etc.  I especially like the bumper sticker option, because, living in a large city like I do, I'm inevitably stuck in traffic every other day.  And, for lack of anything better to do, and because I'm ADD, I read bumper stickers.  You can bet if I saw a bumper sticker with some mysterious message or URL like that, I'd jot it down and check it out.

Obviously, ABC had the same idea.  On TV Tattle today, there was a link to a website featuring a story about a similar viral campaign the network's running for the upcoming new drama "The Nine."  The link to the story's here, but basically there are billboards up that say simply "What happened in there?" and then gives the URL OnlyTheyKnow.com.

Anyway, I know bumper stickers are relatively inexpensive -- especially if there are no fancy graphics/fonts involved, and it seems that the more you order, the cheaper they are.  I'd definitely be up to doing something like this.

Just thought I'd share.
