Happy New Year everyone

What a monumental year this was!

Moving in with my love, an awesome presidential election and of course getting married. I doubt anything in the coming 12 months will top individual events of 2008, but I have total faith in it being another great year in the life of Zach and Kaitlyn.

In less consequential dealings, I listened to alot of great music this year and saw a handful of terrific movies. To be honest, nothing was quite as good as the best of 2007 in either respect, but I will have my top 10 lists coming in another week or two.

Resolutions:

- Continue giving Kaitlyn all of my love and making our first year of marriage as wonderful as I can.

- The biggest thing in a responsibility sense is completing as much school as possible between working and living an otherwise productive and meaningful life.

- Read more. While some other areas of pop culture have been visited frequently (magazines, journals, etc.), my reading of actual books and novels has suffered the past year. God knows Kaitlyn and I have an impressive library to choose from, so there's no excuse anymore.

- Write more. Whether it be in this journal, letters to Kaitlyn, letters to family, poetry, long-winded music and movie reviews... I definitely need to start writing at the pace I was at between 2003 and 2006. Mayhaps I'm in need of another English class with Mr. Pruitt for some inspiration.

also... I'd like to officially start some kind of local music magazine.

- Improve mind and body health. Each year sees a little improvement in these areas, but I still find myself wishing to be away from crowds and people I don't know. Some days I don't feel like going outside because I might have to say hello to someone I've never seen before. I also need to be a bit more assertive and try to go after things I need.

In a physical sense, I eat much less fast food than I have in the past and have exercised more control at work. I used to eat anything just because it was there. I'm fortunate to never gain weight, but I never lose any either. If I exercise just a little more self control it should be easy to get rid of about 20 pounds, which would put me at my goal weight.

- Finally, try to be a better and more involved friend. The friends I have are wonderful, but I don't go out enough to see them when I'm able. To be perfectly fair to myself, it was a very busy year and I worked alot. But all the same, you have to make time for people you care about!

That's all I can think of at this moment. There are probably a few other little things, but those are the big ones.

Thanks to everyone who continues to read this. Have a safe and happy New Year!

Hoping that this year, that peace on Earth thing works out...

~Zach
