Parenthetical bookend themes are a theme with you, man. And I love it. Because their relationship really isn't that simple, and she does really care, and it's all beautiful, glorious lies and denial.

Their little fight at the beginning really does bring to mind parallels of Carina's introduction in 1x04, but in a good way. I like that you did this from Sara's point of view rather than, well, Sarah's, because from the perspective of someone who knows one much better than the other it makes it easier for me to get a feel on Black Canary this way. Plus, bonus lulz over the outsider perspective when it comes to Sarah's situation in Burbank with the geeky man-child.

“Bathtub,” she affirms, “you can wash blood away from porcelain no problem but I have yet to find a carpet cleaner that actually gets blood stains out of carpet.”

I appreciate that both of them are blowing this off as, eh, flesh wound, and making sensical decisions such as this one because competency is wonderful, and this is an amusing example of it. Like, this is something only professionals really think of, and it (and other lines in the same scene) do a nice job of revealing character through dialogue.

It’s definitely hitting her big time at this point but she trusts Sarah to take care of her before any permanent damage happens.

I enjoy how damn contrary that sentence is to their intro scene. So much. Not really friends by the usual definition of it but there's hard-earned trust that comes with being in similar lines of work, like professional courtesy but more complex than that maybe.

“Your favorite’s still chicken fried rice, right?”

You and food. I can't even. But also I love the dynamics of the end of that scene and the she's reliable like that.

Sara offers to hang back and just walk back to the hotel but he says he wouldn’t want to get the way of sisterly bonding with a hint of an edge to when he speaks.

Hahaha, this motherfucker is jealous, which, of course he would be. Someone is infringing on his special time with his not-girlfriend, and someone knows more about her than just 'does not like black olives on pizza'. It's just the right amount of petty for s1!Chuck to really jump off the page so to speak.

“Yeah, a nice guy for a nice girl who doesn’t use a throwing knife to push the snooze button on her alarm clock in the morning.”

“That was a bad morning, and, besides, Chuck is an assignment, it’s not like I wanted this.”

I like that we're implying that Sarah has done that at least once before outside of 1x11. Mostly cause that's one of my favorite s1!Sarah moments.

Lulz at her reaction to the Wienerlicious and the line about losing a bet to the other kitty cats because, wow, hard truths. I wish there was someone - or more someones - from Sarah's past around early on to give her the wtf are you doing spiel that's happening here.

Whoever first said, ‘how the mighty have fallen,’ clearly had visions of the future that featured assassin-turned-spy extraordinaire Sarah Walker dressed up in a Wienerlicious uniform - complete with evenly parted pigtails - front and center, she muses.

Favorite line, hands down.

“Guess our little Tweety bird’s not so tough after all, huh.”

“Kindly do me a favor and fuck off, please.”

Did I mention I enjoy nicknames and banter? Because I really, really do. Aces.

UGH THE ENTIRE END SCENE THOUGH.

“You’re a broken record, Walker.”

“I wouldn’t have to be one if you just listened to me for once.”

I like that the big sister/little sister cover is a lie based largely in truth because, wow, their dynamics are exactly that. Granted, estranged sisters. Sisters who don't necessarily get along 100% of the time but, still. It's beautiful but also makes me a little sad, there at the end.

This was great, dude!
