So, now that I've actually read this, I 1000% back the decision to change the ME characters out with Chuck ones because it A) makes more sense, and B) allows me to give way more shits about the other characters because lol given a choice between Jacob and Casey who the fuck do you think I care more about? Yeah. So, four for you.
ALSO, calm down, sunshine; I love it. Sassy!Sarah is my favorite and you do her such justice. Ditto on Casey liking to drag shit like that out because lol of course.
She doesn’t bother proving him wrong so much as she tells him she’s right, looks him dead in the eyes with a stone face and asks “can you feel your heart beat?”
I really, really like the feel of that line. I actually really like the whole Sarah is an actual professional bit before it too, because I am forever bitter that the writers seem to have forgotten that and therefore like to see it touted. A lot.
On paper, there’s no one else like him and there probably won’t ever be. And while this is about him, not her, she can’t help but feel a sudden emptiness at the thought of not being good enough when she’s already more than enough.
(it’s something stupid and frivolous and she stomps it down and locks it away as quickly as it surfaces)
Ugh, I feel like this section here merges Sarah Walker and Miranda Lawson kind of flawlessly? Like, she needs to feel like that in order for the AU to actually work and I think she would, in this situation, because I definitely think early seasons Sarah had flashes of that kind of insecurity.
From what she can see, the skin grafts on his face get the worst of it, glowing and angry but serving their purpose.
QUICK SOMEONE UPGRADE THE MEDBAY.
