Hey look I wrote this a few days ago and then I didn't post it and it became obsolete:
My bike began to break down a couple days ago, and I took it in for repairs this morning. I am now without wheels for the first time since early September. It's been a while since I've actually walked more than a few blocks. Thankfully it's April and beautiful and I have nowhere to be and nothing to do for several hours.
A few months back I read the wonderful novel The Third Policeman, which becomes
increasingly focused on bicycles as it goes on. At one point a character explains that the more one rides a bicycle, the more one's personality and humanity transfers into the bike, while the rider becomes more bicycle than human. These people start leaning at an angle whenever they stand still. I sometimes wonder what percentage bicycle I've become. Of course if that happened I would be rather faulty - I could only move at one speed, I would need to be rejuvenated far too frequently and my foot might fall off.
OK WE'RE BACK HOPE YOU ENJOYED THAT TRIP INTO THE PAST
I currently feel awkward due to the fact that I got free tickets to the opening of a play on Friday night from my possible future apartment-mate, but it turns out that's also the night of the Mac art opening. So that takes care of about half my friends, and I would have liked to have gone. I don't even know if I'll like the play. But hey, if anyone wants to go see I Have Before Me A Remarkable Document Given to Me by A Young Lady from Rwanda hit me up. Actually I don't know if anyone in the cities besides Clair even reads this.
