So, Fall Break has come and gone. My ability to come up with things to write about seems to have disappeared as well, but I feel like I should at least write something before October ends. It's been a pretty quiet couple of months; being in a house off campus, with a bunch of people I don't know very well, tends to limit the amount of excitement in day-to-day life. I think I've been to one actual party this whole semester.

Today was lovely. 70-degree weather and a free afternoon, in which I could bike into Minneapolis, wander around the sculpture garden, get slightly lost, and get back to hang around by the river with Stacia. And really good Thai food. Since I only have the motivation to make decent food for myself, it's been ages since I've had a truly delicious dinner. A treat.

I think this is the first semester I've had where my classes all seem to fit together, even though they're all in different fields. Stuff that I read or talk about in Sociology of Music turns up in Cultural Anthropology, and the racism class ends up dovetailing with the American West class. Fun times. For the Sociology of Music class, today I presented on the role of women in rap, which allowed me to blast Wildflower at unsuspecting students.

Over the past couple months I've been stealing massive amounts of music from the library - The Handsome Family, John Cale, Burning Spear, the Geto Boys (This year Halloween fell on a...Wednesday?), all great stuff. Going to see Robyn Hitchcock this weekend. Whee.

I have to get up ridiculously early tomorrow. Time for bed. I swear I'll post more.
