Saturday:
We sat around watching bad 80's movies (Mosquito) on TV, introduced Seanan to NCIS (more of that later) and then headed out to Fremont to meet Becket, Paul, Casey and Riley (seven year old twins), plus Becket's Mum and sister Heather.
What a fab family.
We had a lovely time just hanging with them, talking sewing and crafts (I got to look through Becket's fabric stash and see some of her yarns, and her mother was working on a patchwork), costumes, dolls (Heather was at a doll face-up workshop when we arrived and brought her dolls over after to show me) and dragons, snakes, toads, lizards and other creatures with the boys. We went out to Target, just in case it had any bargains to offer (after all, it yielded Elizabethan shoes when we went tot he one near Karen/
seamstrix's place in Chicago), before heading to an all you can eat buffet place for too much food (Paul and i discovered we found Filk at about the same time).
Then back to Beckett and Paul's place so Seanan could work on musical stuff (with Beckett's lovely harmonica accompaniment for some of it) while the rest of us talked costume and, once Heather arrived, dolls.
By the time it all wound up and everyone collapsed on the sofas and living room chairs, it was late and Paul and Beckett, instead of dropping us back at the BART stop, kindly drove us all the way back to Concord.
