Hi, I first made a post on this community about a week ago.
Since then, I've been learning even more about cloth pads!!
Here is my first time experience with cloth pads.
I'm only 14 and had to buy these with my own money. So, I was only able to buy 2: a pantywrap from Homestead Emporium and a short medium pad custom made to be narrower from Amy's Rag Bag. I also won a free Lunette menstrual cup size 1 from a Lunette giveaway on their website :D, which I intend to use for sports and physical activities. Since I only had two pads, I've been washing one while wearing the other. I usually tend to try to use the pad from Amy's Rag Bag during the nights and the pantywrap during the day. Its been great so far!!! Also, since I don't have much money to work with, I used a small cosmetic bag that I got for free from Clinique (which has a PUL waterproof in the inside) as a wetbag, and also put a Ziploc bag inside the bag to make it extra secure. (Blood/water can still bleed through the zipper on the bag). I wash the pads with cold water as soon as I get home, then soak in a large Ziploc bag with OxiClean. When it is laundry time, I just add my pads into the basket. No stains so far, and the pads are extremely comfortable! I really recommend reusable menstrual options to anyone whose hesitating about it.
I'm hoping to wait for my birthday (which is coming up) and buying one one more pantywrap and maybe looking at one more brand to buy from. I've looked at iKarly, Silver Liner, Mimi's Dream, and Yurtcraft. However, I would really want something like the pantywrap that is for light flow, small (about 6-8 inches long), narrow (I am petite and would prefer something that is 1 3/4-2 1/4 inches wide), with a water resistant fleece backing, and flannel topping. It would help to have cute prints :D. Any recommendations for a brand matching this description? I really want to have another brand in my little mini stash.
Also, I want to buy a legit wetbag instead of my makeshift. I've been thinking of buying this one
http://hyenacart.com/FluffyBumsandBeyond/mt/4194/58755/Wet-Bag-Camosince its extremely cute (isn't it the cutest thing??) and is big enough (11 inches X 14 inches) with a wet/dry section. But what is the difference between a pail liner and a wetbag? I've been trying to look into this but the only pail liners I've seen so far look like trash bags??? What is the function of a pail liner? Is it preferred over a wetbag?
Lastly, am I cleaning correctly? I know that different people have different cleaning options and I'd like to see if this cleaning method is in any way harmful for the pads. OxiClean is safe, right?
Thank you for reading this extremely long post!!
and thank you in advance for advice you could provide~
