I have been using cloth pads for several months now, and I have become a little addicted. I rationalize buying more pads because my first stash was made up of pads that don't really work for me now. I started taking hormones to manage my endometriosis a few months before switching to cloth, and they must have really kicked in the month I quit disposables, because my period went from torrential to barely there. Sounds great, right? But I had just put together the better part of a stash, all with huge, thick pads. :/
So now I buy mostly pantyliners with a few light-medium pads thrown in for good measure. Sadly, my overnight pads don't even get used. A few of my favorites are in the laundry atm, but all the brands I have are represented.
Kitty ultra-thin panty liner by
WeeEssentials and mini-liner, luxe liner, and medium and large pads by
Party In My Pants. All of these pads are wonderfully lightweight and thin, and the PIMP pads can deal with extra flow if needed.
Regular and heavy flow pads by
YurtCraft, wonderfully waterproof double wet bag by
Monkey Foot Designs, and my brand new light flow pads by
Popples. I love all of these pads, because they are so well made. The sewing is fantastic, and the fabrics are cute and soft.
Minkee pad by
Trojacek Farms and flannel and fleece medium-heavy pads and pantyliners by
Cozy Folk. These are the softest pads in my stash. The Minkee feels great and doesn't stain, but I can't wear it on hot days. Cozy Folk pads are so soft that they perfectly contour to my body, and I don't even feel the pantyliners when I wear them.
Glad Rags, Cozy Folk, YurtCraft, and a seller I can't remember- The Silver Liner maybe? (A lot of sellers have that owl fabric.) This is my heavy duty/overnight collection that never gets used, because I barely have any flow at night now.
Moonpads in various thicknesses. I bought a bunch of these initially, because they were organic and did not use synthetic fabrics. However, I have found that the shape just does not work for me. They are pretty thick and slow to dry, and the ends are too narrow for me. I think these would work well for someone more petite than me who wants organic fabrics. They are well made, just not for me.
I also have some pantyliners I recently bought on Etsy that were a huge disappointment. I didn't read the description close enough to see that they have cotton batting as the inner layer. They are kind of floppy and fluffy and even though I gave them a try, I probably won't use them again. Luckily, I have learned by trial and error what shapes and designs work for me now, so I can buy online with more confidence.
