I really, really want to try lunapanties,

And, I did jump to buy lunapads[teeny and maxi with liner to test them out] I couldn't resist! They sounded so soft, and so comfortable. I was intrigued with all the reviews. But, I don't really wanna spend the money on them.
I think I made a mistake with buying a punky's pad. It is just SO big. But, I will try it out with one of my heavier days.
Has anyone here tried Luna Panties? Can you tell me what is good with them and what not?
Has anyone had problems with traveling with their cloth pads?
I am taking a 9 day trip back to my hometown and I am terrified of being searched because I am wearing a liner! I heard about the war vet who was wearing gladrags and it brought up some painful memories. I certainly don't want to be searched wearing a liner because I will be near my period.
