Starting over

Ok, about 4 years ago i started using a combination of cloth pads and the keeper. i loved it. But i also had a new husband who didn't like the soaking pads in the bathroom sink, and didn't want to spend the money on the cloth pads i needed. i had no sewing machine, and no one to talk to for advice on how to do it anyway. So, in a cleaning mishap, where i mistakenly soaked my keeper in the wrong proportion of vinegar to water, and put it out of the sight of my husband, and then FORGOT about it, (it was the end of my cycle) my keeper cracked and was ruined. There was no way at the time to get my husband to buy me a new one or more pads so that i had enough to just use them, and so i gave up and went back to disposables. (blech)
Now, thankfully, my husband is a much more sensible and sensitive man, and when he noticed that i had joined this community and a menstrual cup community, HE suggested that we spend the money to get me back into the more natural and healthy swing of things. :) i, of course, am thrilled and very excited. But it's been awhile, and i have some questions.
It sounds like you all have used lots of different cloth pads, and have your own personal preferences. When comparing Gladrags, Lunapads, and Hagrags, and Mimi's Dreams, which have you found to be the most comfortable and most absorbent for you? i have a very heavy flow for the first couple of days, and this is a very important question for me. As well, i have very sensitive skin that is easily irritated. i have a few of the old luna pads, and they were nicely absorbent, but the tags and snaps itched a lot, are the new ones better? And i have a couple glad rags, and they feel soft to the touch, but i can't remember using them, or if they were absorbent enough or not. i want to spend wisely, here, so your opinions and experiences would be greatly appreciated.
i've read through some of the memories, and i didn't find quite what i needed, so i thought i'd just ask you all for a comparison/contrast.
Does rectangular shape, or oval shape make a difference in comfort or absorbency?
Do you find that you prefer pads with detachable liners, or all-in-one pads?

And one more thing, someone here mentioned "beautiful clay menstrual soak pots", or something like that....where would i find a link for purchasing something like that? i'd really like to find something roomy and beautiful to soak my things in. :) Right now, i just have a little yellow teapot, it's pretty, but a bit too small, overall.
Thanks again, guys, and i'm glad you're here! :)
