the colour of blood

Sep 28, 2006 17:29

hello all, pretty sure this is my first posting here, so hi. *waves* :-)

just some quick background on me & cloth pads .. i originally bought some cloth pads from moonpads around the time i had my little boy. i used them a few times for postpartum bleeding but then didn't have a need for them again until three & a half years later when i finally got my period back.

i've now had four periods & have used cloth pads for two of those. (the rest of the time i've mostly been using my keeper.)

okay, now my original reason for posting. most of the cloth pads i have are coloured &/or printed ones. one of them is black & another is quite a dark print, but mostly the others are lighter colours or prints.

now that i've finally been experiencing my periods more intimately & more *real* for pretty much the first time since i got my period eighteen years ago (i was 16. late bloomer. lol!!), i've found that i actually prefer using the lighter coloured pads. when i've checked my pad to see if it needs changing, it's somehow not as satisfying to not be able to see the bright red blood .. or to see it change colour through the process as the days go by.

if i posted this anywhere else, i'm sure people would think i'm mad. lol!! then again, maybe some of you do, too, but i suspect that this is probably one of the few places where i can talk about enjoying the colour of my menses without most of the people thinking i'm nuts.
