I'm active duty Air Force. I hear ya on the being stuck thing, but it's not forever. At least, that's what I tell myself. Almost all my friends are also military, so I have to go by my legal name and all, but it's alright.

And yeah, it's definitely hard to get people you've known for a long time to understand, or accept. Good luck to ya. Mind if I add you as a friend?

Sweet, I added ya.

I'm out at Ft Gordon, so even though I'm in the AF I haven't spent but a few months the whole time I've been in on an AF base. Awesome on the E-5 thing, I dunno about the Army but in the AF it's a pretty big deal, NCO status and all that. I was pretty happy when I made it last year.

Talk to you later Derrick.

I have been out to gordon once when i was mobilized. yeah i went through my AIT(Job training) out at Sheppard AFB, but i am reserves so i only play part time army. So what do you do that your out on an army base? NCO status is a big deal in the army to.. its just achieving it. and my LT wants to put me for all these awards as well and he cant cause i am flagged but i will nail tat shit. hopefully.. if i ever get rid of this insomnia i seem to be suffering from.

Yeah Ft Gordon's not too bad. I can't really say what I do, but it's pretty boring anyways. How long were you mobilized for?

Good luck on the NCO thing. What base are you our of if you don't mind my asking?

wow, that must be really difficult to have to act like a girl, when you are a man inside, in a place where women are less respected, like the military... or maybe not less respected, i dunno, but often treated as outsiders. i mean, such is the world in general i think, but in the army it seems like it would feel like that times a billion.
is it hard?
anyway, i'm jymi. nice to meet you.

well the treatment varies from unit to unit. I mean i am head of my section and excell at all tasks i am given. i am being pushed to get my shit together for my next rank and then i am prob gonna warrent officer in a couple more years after that. In my unit we dont really look at man or woman.. we are all soldiers and we have a job. lets get it done. so for me its not as bad.. cause my unit is kewl. But like i said it would all depend on where you at and with who. Nice to meet you jymi.
