The company I work for had offices in two different spaces in the building. So when the offices next door went vacant, the company rented them and abandoned the old space. 3 months and oodles of money later they moved in. They wanted it to look like the other offices, so one would not know these were new. the old offices had a wall of private offices tha were against the adjoining was. The company took one of the offices and made that the opening between the spaces.
That being said, the department i work in was moves to the new spaces. All but me. Since I am really a department on my own, being the only IT person in the company, my supervisor did not want the people on the old side to say that he spirited me away for his personal use, which is what I do any way. So I was moves to whre the department i work in was located. SO now I sit alone. Not here and not there. I do not mind it, but my cubicle is right at the joining of the two offices and anyone that goes between them goes behind me. I guess I will get used to it.
Office politics. You got to love it.
