every airbag was used

every kid died a saint

anything you ever accomplished mattered

someone cared

we didnt forget

everyone was good at what they loved

and were loved

what if they shot the flowers at the hippies

shunned total war
                                elected the other guy

and made Fidel soup?

would they still have sent them back across the ocean they just swam ?

or would they have staged a coup ?                    who knows the truth

or cares

'what if' is just a pair of words

question marks warrant nothing

and the future cant matter because

it doesnt exist yet
