My Thoughts On Hell Week

My feet hurt
I'm exausted
I can't keep my eyes open
My voice is almost gone
and I still have tons of homework to do.

But we just had the best run-through yet of Beauty and the Beast
and I'm happy
and proud
to be a part of this cast.

This week is hell week
and so far yes
it has been hell
but today I realized
that I would rather stay in hell
than leave
this wonderful group of people.

It's not just the drama
it's putting on tons of makeup and laughing at eachother
it's belting Defying Gravity in the band room
it's Z-ah
and the names in the garage
and the Bitch Bathroom
it's wearing your bracelet all week
and refusing to speak because you're on "vocal rest"
it's giving up food and sleep
and it's crying in front of the audience on closing night.

You may not understand
you may think we're insane
that we waste our time with this
and that it really doesn't mean anything
but it does
I wouldn't give it up for anything in the world
and I am going to miss it when it's gone.
