I am WRECKED from the last chapters of Shounen no Kyoukai from Akabeko. just WRECKED b/c of the antagonist TAIGA.
Seriously DID believe he was just a mob character, BUT YOU PUT A FUCKIN SPIN ON THAT AKABEKO, YOU SURE DID
Spoilers:
Yuka is still avoiding school but Taiga and the other betas go to class like normal. Taiga comes in like a hotshot delinquent, arriving after lunch and hear gossip about omegas. He thinks they're talking about Yuka, but the beta boys explain there's an omega girl in the school, and that shared they knew an omega boy but kept his identity a secret. They're like, 'you mad?' and Tagia's like, 'yeah right. Eitherway, that kind of gossip's gonna follow him forever whereever he goes, the poor thing, but idaf'
So the betas feel sorry for Yuka and sort of want their relationship to go back to being bros, but Taiga's like there's no way that's possible after what happened (the poor sod)
Then there's some excitement in the hallways when an omega girl goes into heat; they can smell it all the way from inside the classroom and the beta boys are curious why Taiga's not affected, and he (acts like a snob and) claims her pheremones don't affect him (it's totally different from Yuka's. Yuka's smell is specifically more appealing to him...) The other beta boys are like, 'oh yeah totally, Yuka's pheremones were nbd too' but to that Taiga's like, 'yeah but i'm an alpha so im not totally unaffected'
They laugh it off but Taiga's remembering how Yuka's pheremones were way more intense and irresistable.
Conversation drifts, beta boy 1 notes how if Taiga had bitten Yuka's neck, he'd be claimed by now; and Taiga's like [he's like super vague here i feel] 'i'd never do that, but if i did it'd be done. (sounds like he's implying he's fine with it) but he'd feel bad about it since he'll throw [yuka] away in a heartbeat." He believes it's an alpha's right to get to play around and that being stuck with an omega, even if you can break up, is like getting stung (a pain), so basically getting paired is no joke.
However, he does believe in a true mate or destined partner. The beta boys laugh at him saying the possibillity of that happening is like legendary level kind of rare happenstance. Taiga's laid back, 'yeah all the more reason i admire it.' and even goes to say he won't take a mate until he finds his destined one.
The others are like, but how would you know if you found the one? Taiga's nonplussed and all "i'll know when i see them"
Beta boy 2's like 'hey maybe you might have already passed by each other at some point!'
Beta boy 1: But all omega pheremones smell the same. if you did pass by each other, you'd never know! Even yuka smelled just like the girl in the hallway! Right, Taiga?!
[INSERT TAIGA'S PANICKED FACE]
Taiga: Ah... yeah i guess.
FUCK MAAANNNN. I-AM-WRECKED! If you don't get it by now, Yuka's most likely Taiga's destined mate, but the jerk didn't even know it. He didn't understand why he was compelled to chase Yuka who was in heat, because he's a total JERK; he literally thought Yuka would be a great plaything not knowing his body's telling him MY MATE.
And that also (hopefully) explains why Yuka had no control; his body's been responding to Kaoru's alpha pheremones unconsciously, and the poor dumb boy didn't even realize it and he thought the first alpha he sees is how he'll respond to all alphas in general; there's still the posibility that yuka responded to taiga was because taiga was his true mate. althoooough that wouldn't explain why his body reacted to kaoru...
It's so painful, but at the same time he's totally getting what he deserves bc he's a total jerk and ~surprise!~ KARMA!
