I've been caught

I really didn't like the premise when I started the first chapter, but when I saw how it's 4 volumes in already, I thought maybe this series is up to something. I jumped to the last chapter to see the tone of the story and was intrigued even though there was nothing yaoi or smut in there hahaha

Then before I knew it, I had all 26 chapters downloaded and ughhhhh my feels!!!

I can't wait till the next release, but who knows when that'll be...

Anyway, there's one thing I really wanted to vent, and that's the fact that it took almost 14 chapters (a little less) for me to get caught! I really really REALLY love the Masatsugu/Rei relationship! I love how volume 4 has all been about building the backstory of the MC but also focused on Rei's past, and how it ties everyone together.

The gokudou, the tattoos, the loss of innocence and desire to protect- the names, Masa(tsugu) and Ryuuji, yep. I've got vibes trailing back to Hana to Ryuu and yeah.

There's a parallel where Ryuuji (HtR) and Yuki (AT) are very similar since both had their parents taken away at a young age, then traumatized. Both had hospitalized little brothers and both wind up at the side of their protector- however, Yuki has more damsel in distress situations than Ryuuji.

Honestly, I didn't really like Yuki because he's just a bottle of uke wangst, but my heart finally melted when I saw how happy and complete his life was before it got torn apart by his stupid mother-raping pimp.

I mean... it's pretty hard to believe that he's got everyone falling for his charms and wicked seductive looks when he's got sour-puss face on all the time, right?
