Hi Sommer,
I shared a similar reaction to you in regards to the impact made when reading ‘Song of Myself’ by Walt Whitman, it definitely resonated something inside of me, especially in terms of the power that certain words, sentences and phrases can hold over us. It is amazing how something so simple as jotting down what one thinks and feels at a certain moment, just as Whitman did, can inevitably provide us as the reader with a sense of connection to our own experiences and thoughts; which leads me to believe that the thoughts or actions which we are responsible for, and that at times may seems “crazy” as you say, are in the end products of our form of wisdom. If we are wise enough, which I am sure is something that will progress with time and experience, then hopefully we shall all one day acknowledge and appreciate the beauty in our own thoughts.
I look forward to reading your future posts, all that you have produced so far has been incredibly admirable and I genuinely think that you have an amazing talent for creative writing, a talent which I feel I personally lack as I am often inclined to take more of a critical approach to writing. Nevertheless, I think that you should be very proud of your ability to express your deepest thoughts and heartfelt experiences through the use of creative writing.
See you around!
Cristina
