summer of ;08

I miss Jersey - period. I originally planned to come down the 13th of June to the 18th however lack of funds and unemployment prevented me from doing so. Plus, I needed a chillax week to calm down from the school year. I dropped my second semester class because I don't want to study non-stop for the past year and want to chill without working 60hr (harbor) weeks.

However rugby has kept me rather busy with practice twice a week, crossfit training once a week, morning runs (5k ~3.3mi) three times a week, games once a week, and the occasional team beerings after Thursday practice and games. Oh and I also have become the coordinator for the new Locks Jr team thus I get to boss around my brother Joshua who has started playing rugby. I brag that I'm a better rugger cause I tackle harder and run faster but I'm training him.

Joshua has also moved into the living room of our apartment (couch taken out and replaced with a twin size bed). My mother's basement flooded and was destroyed during a freak storm that turned over trucks on the bridge with mini-tornadoes and dented cars with golf ball sized hail. I helped her ripped up the marble floor and wood, aie. But construction will take awhile because we don't have enough money to pay contractors and my
mother is going to do it herself again with me helping with the painting, etc. At the end of the summer after rugby, my brother Michael will move into the living room because my parents can not afford to pay the rent for his own apartment until my sister moves out next year. This is cause my Dad is unable to sell his first house in North Carolina (he moved three hours away to another job after his first year in NC) sooooooo yeah.

I recently got employed at this cool café called Moozoo. I was supposed to train today buuuuut once again I am working in the tourism industry and the weather is shitty out (yay for practice in the pouring rain, cough cough). The café is located in the Old Ports of Montréal which every one says Old Montréa looks like Old Europe. I can see the connection and I think Old Montréal is very beautiful. A great thing about the job is that my manager is a rugby player too so she understands my rugby commitment and my unwillingness to skip practice for work. I just hope the rainy weather goes away.

Especially since this weekend is a tripler header Locks (go BLUE) vs the Irish - the two men's teams and the woman's team. After that is going to be a rookie auction to raise money for rookie initiations. Thankgod girl rookies can only be bought by girls and visaversa for the boys. Otherwise with all the drinking that happens, good lord. I'm not much of a drinker as I used to be. A beer or two and thats about it for me. Woot. I like rugby.

I miss Jersey. I can't wait to see Laura and Theresa (especially after living with them last summer) beach house or not. Although I definately want to hit the shores weather permitting (no beaches in Montréal except an artifical one on the St. Laurence river that connects to the ocean).
