Writing about kissing: How many ways can you say that two people pressed their lips together anyway?

I... I only know how to write the one kiss scene.

I mean, they're not all identical, but if you put them together you'd know the same person wrote them. I'm addicted to one or two kissing tropes which always appear in my scenes. Or maybe I just have a handful of words and phrases that discribe kissing and no imagination to come up with more.

The people doing the kissing always do at least four of the following seven things (often more and a few times it's been all of them):
i) Press the other person against something solid with their body, or pull the other person's body up against theirs.
ii) Tangle their fingers in the other person's hair.
iii) Melt into / against the other person (not literally, but as a metaphor).
iv) Run thier hands &/or fingers over/up the other persons chest &/or back &/or neck.
v) Wrap their arms around the other person's waist or neck.
vi) Moan or mumbe or make another kind of noise into the other person's lips.
vii) Futter their eyes closed.
and they very rarely do anything else.

The kiss is always either deep, soft, passionate/wild, or a combination of the three.

It either makes the person:
a) feel like the rest of the world doesn't exist,
b) tremble &/or feel lightheaded
c) feel like their heart is pounding out of their chest
or d) a combination of the above

and if someone isn't expecting the kiss (which is a frequent trope I use) they always freeze in shock for a second, before giving in completely. In nearly those exact words every time.

So, yeah. I'm not as good at kissing scenes as I thought (at least not if you want me to write more than two different ones). You know what's worse? I'm really, earnestly, within reach of finishing a whole fic that isn't a one-shot, and a million and one insecurities about my writing such as the one featured here keep popping up to distract me by making me go away to brainstorm the concept into infinity rather than writing content, or complain that It's gonna be shit anyway so why bother?

Or in other news, I'm trying to write Jayne & Wash's first kissing scene and there's nothing at all new about it. In fact, it is very similar to a later one I've already written and also to John & Sherlock's one from that thing I wrote a little while ago. This doesn't just happen with slash kisses, it's just been a while since I wrote anything but.

fan fiction, rambling, just ignore my angst, writing, jayne/wash
