Live Action Drama's and Drag Queens
So now that I can think slightly more straight, I decided to try my hand at another rant.
I tried the drama too, and now I've had my yearly fix of cross-dressing boys >.< Seriously, Princess Princess D was... weird, for lack of a better word. The actors didn't really look or act like their manga/anime counterpart, though they did look kind of cute. Just not in the dresses. And why did Yuujirou's actor spend 99% of his screentime touching his hair? I know his hair was his hobby, but still...
And they made Mikoto... gay. Now I can hear ringquelle already saying, "So?"
It's just that... Both in the anime and manga he had a girlfriend even though she's a transsexual, but that really doesn't matter... so it was kind of weird that they made him gay suddenly.
And even though the actor for Yuujirou (Rei Fujita) looks really good, he isn't exactly a 'Yuu-chan' type. He's too... manly!
Also, the anime-verse characters seem to have only a few moods, being:
For Mikoto, 90% of the time it seems to switch between Extremely!Embarrassed and Extremely!Irritated, with a bit of OMGWTFSHOCK! and girlfriend-induced lovestruckness, the latter being most amusing for both the audience and the other members of the Rainbow Trio, and will no doubt be made fun of.
Yuujirou seems to have Mildly!Smug as a default expression. Other moods include an exasperated 'You Idiot' look (mostly chibified), an you-just-made-an-ass-of-yourself-so-I'm-going-to-be-supremely-smug-until-you-explode-and-do-something-even-more-stupid look, Royally!PissedOff (goes nicely with his "Queen" mode ^^;) and his trademark slanted look that seems to say, "I'm torn between going to rape you for looking highly molestable or laugh at you because you're being an idiot."
Oh, and we can't forget the too sweet, sparkly smiles that seem to herald doom and/or destruction and/or humiliation for whoever looks at him that moment.
And Tohru ranges from Emo to an OMGWTFSHOCK! only slightly below Mikoto's level, to sparkly, Queenly mode (Yuujirou beats him at that though) and angry and the like.
At least they're better off than Sakamoto, who only has Sweetly!Smiling and Huh?!
And both Arisada and Natashou have only one default mode, namely gloatingly evil and creepily enthusiastic respectively.
And there are no words for how much I love Yuujirou in episode 7. The whole confrontation with Sayaka is absolutely hilarious. Mikoto's face cracks me up every time I watch it.
More wonderful moments: Yuujirou bitching about Tohru's family (his "Ich glaube, die sorgen sich in der falschen Richtung!" is great) and clueless Sakamoto is ever so wonderful.

And because I always seem to mix up my fandoms, I had this scary image of a Princess System at Rozenstolz... Although Lui as Arisada would be really funny, I can't for the life of me picture Ed in Gothic Lolita clothes. *shudders*
Now, off to homework! And apparently I did both the Dutch and History test better than I thought. Hee.
