All the things you wanted to know about Hizumi

May 28, 2010 03:22

This is a general post to put in all random bits of info that I think people might need. I can't remember everything though so if there's something you want to know and I don't have here, ask, and I'll answer. Needless to say, this is spoilerrific.

- Hizumi is a clone. He is initially introduced as Mizushiro Yaiba's (father of all the Blade Children, and also the devil) little brother, but later on it's revealed that he really is a clone of him. Because cloning a human isn't exactly a perfected technique already, his body is going to start deteriorating in a few years, so he'll die young. Or...

- Fate says he's going to be killed by Ayumu, and with "fate" I mean Kiyotaka. Either way, because he is like Yaiba, Ayumu really is the only one who can kill him (with the exception of his clone status), to the point he can't even kill himself. In fact, he tried numerous times but always survived. Either way, his fate is to die, and he states that with no uncertain terms.

- As the devil, he can't kill god. There is no proof that he actually can't kill Ayumu, as he doesn't actually really try, but he mentions that he did try to kill Kiyotaka and failed, so it' safe to assume the same would be true for Ayumu.

- This isn't really important but I lol at it anyway. Because Hizumi is a clone of Yaiba, he has a father-son relation with all the Blade Children, genetically speaking.

- Hizumi is a genius, and although he goes in High School with Ayumu (and acts like an idiot) at one point, he actually already has a college degree and specializes in genetics. He had wanted to find a way to break Yaiba's curse, but it's there that he found out about how limited his time was. Ooops, I'm a clone and I'm going to die soon!

- To make it short, Yaiba's curse means... well, turning into the devil. When he was young, Yaiba was pretty much one lovable, charismatic dude that everyone admired. When he was 20 (or 21-- around that time anyway) he received the Oracle and turned into the devil, planning to destroy all mankind. It is said that the Yaiba that he was up until then disappeared as if a switch was pressed. Of course, because he was used to be with humans, nobody ever noticed until he set in motion his plans. Either way, Blade Children and Hizumi are also going to receive the Oracle at one point, and that's what Yaiba's curse is-- that switch. Hizumi mentions once that he'd rather be killed by Ayumu than turn into that.

- Some Blade Children, due to stress and so on, got their switch pressed early. They're super dangerous because without the years needed to stay amongst the humans to hide and all, they just start killing and so on. At the end of the manga Eyes mentions how he's sure he'll fall to the curse, and considering why his mom made him take up on piano, I tend to agree. Kanone, too, was someone who was going to fall to the curse most certainly.

- Kanone is the only person he has ever killed. Although he would have liked to not spill any blood, he does not regret doing it.

- Hizumi has been surrounded and loved by people ever since he was a child, however, life was never exactly fulfilling for him. He says that when he first found out about who he was, Yaiba's curse and the Blade Children, he was thrilled and excited because it was a challenge for him. In fact, he childishly had hoped to become a hero by saving everyone, using "the power that Yaiba left behind" to destroy his curse. This makes me assume that because everything else had always been easy for him, Hizumi had some issues even before actually finding out about his condition as a clone. It's also pretty obvious that despite being very social and surrounded by people who admire him, he had never really had a true friend. Hizumi is different from everyone else, and so, nobody can understand him and he can't relate to any of them-- not fully, at least. This hits him pretty badly when he finds out his condition as a clone, and it's really the trigger of all of his "despair". He comes to see Ayumu as his only friend because of this: they're the same.

- Most Blade Children does/did not know anything about his existence to begin with. Eyes knew, and Kanone found out later on (it's what made him go LET'S KILL THE BLADE CHIDLREN to begin with), but the others didn't.
