Yummy Cake

Sorry about the delay, I have been getting reacquainted with Rose.

So, there I was, surrounded, with nothing but my wits about me. These beasts were ugly, and when I say ugly, I mean it. I have seen some truly horrendous beings in my life time, sometimes it takes weeks to get the slime smell out of my clothes, but they really take the biscuit. And really, it was this thought that drew me to my answer.

So I was mouthing off, as usual, trying to convince them that they didn’t want to sacrifice me to their Gods.

“It’s so primal.” I was saying, “beastly, we live in more civilised times. Can’t we site down, have tea and cake, and discuss this like modern men.”

“Cake?” They asked in unison, after all they share one mind.

It turns out, that on their planet, there is no such thing as confectionery. This small piece of information shocked me beyond words, after all they aren’t skinny runts and what else do they eat if not sweets and goodies?

They seemed fascinated by the concept. Even more so when we flew off to France to check out what a petit boulangerie had to offer.

It turns out sugar, is somewhat equivalent to LSD in some cultures, particularly this one. They found a new God in the bright lights and euphoria, and left me and Junior alone. Rose was particularly delighted by the gifts I brought back from France.

I guess that’s the end of that chapter. I don’t think I have ever saved the day with cake before. I prefer the healthier option.
