Smallville: Thoughts on Kandor...

If I had to describe Kandor in one word it would have to be Clark-centric

And that is as it should be. Kandor had one of the best opening sequences I've ever seen in a tv show or a movie for that matter. The way the set up this tale into the past lives of Jor-El and Zod and how this directly affects Clark's destiny was nothing short of brilliant. I have to say when they first introduced Zod I was like WTF! didn't we do this already? and pretty awesomely cause MR(aka Lex) did one bad ass Zod. But then CB as Zod was introduced and I was intrigued, now I totally sold. I have to say the clone theory didn't take me by surprise but that's okay it didn't have too. The acting was solid and kept a wonderful continuity with the overall seasons plot points. This was going to be the first Lois-less episode and I was worried Smallville was going to repeat past mistakes and just ignore the big pink Lois Shaped elephant in the room. But I was happily surprised and Lois absence was ignore in fact it brought about one of my all time favorite Clark/Chloe scenes. "You've had feelings for Lois since like the 1930s" will go down as one of my favorite Smallville Chloe Lines. Great tribute to Clois Continuity period. Also loved how is showcased Chloe being a perceptive best friend.

Clark had interactions with almost everyone in this episode and each time a different aspect of his personality was visible. They really gave TW a lot to do and it was great seeing how much he's grown as an actor.

The Tess/Zod scene were fabulously wicked and sexy. You can cut the sexual tension with a knife around those two. I love how the build up of there "relationship" is in direct juxtaposition to Lois/Clark's one is based on genuine feelings and the other on a power play.

Clark and Oliver should have more buddy cop moments their scene are great. I especially loved them wondering through the desert. Oliver being back to his smart ass self was a welcomed return. And the heart to heart about father's between both heroes was genuine and heartfelt.

Jor-El/Zod that was one intense scene beautifully delivered by Sands & Blue. I love this new found history between Jor-El and Zod it really raises the bar for the future confrontation between Clark and Zod.

Once again this season smallville has delivered. And they even did it on an episode with out my beloved Clois front and center. You keep wanting more. And although the previews for next week look kinda silly, Smallville has taught me this season not to job an episode until I've seen it.
