i'm in austin!
i'm in austin, tx for the week, house hunting up in fort hood for when brian comes back from his deployment next month. i turned in one application today, so i'm just waiting to hear back from the place.
anyway, i'm staying with fellow may petal, chuck, while i'm here and we've played a couple of open mic shows...one of which was a songwriters contest.
WHICH WE WON!!!!!
and the prize was a paid gig at the austin bake house.
i also saw dale watson monday night and he kissed me (cheek, dammit) and remembered me from wheatland. lastnight, i randomly found out that neko case was playing at stubbs so we decided to check it out - and ended up getting a free ticket from a stranger.
texas seems to be agreeing with me.
and i get to see my honky tonk husband dale watson again tonight.
