Seren is the kind of... skittish thing that would really like to give all he has to whoever will take it, but he's slapped up a wall that makes him too shy and/or afraid to do so. He is established as the youngest -- Marrow Mother created him last -- and feels disconnected from them for that. Does not have their confidence when he is around other people but he really is SUPER SPECIAL AWESOME with his duties when he isn't being watched.
