CHRONOLOGY: Immediately before her death.
CLASS: Neither nor! But Hero, if it comes down to it. She's looking out for herself more than for anyone else.
SUPERHERO NAME: n/a.
ALTER EGO: Chloe Sweeney, escort.

BACKGROUND:
▌ Set in our normal, modern day world, Chloe is a sophisticated escort who opens the movie by narrating different aspects of what she does as an escort to the audience in a very articulate, almost poetic manner.

Little to nothing is known about Chloe's past, where and how she grew up. We learn in one of the deleted scenes from the movie that Chloe's mother gave her $473 to leave her house when she was fifteen years old and that she never saw her again.

She meets Catherine Stewart (a gynecologist who suspects that her husband is cheating on her) for the first time in a very high-class restaurant, found crying in a bathroom stall. They seem to connect in Chloe's point of view when Catherine offers her some paper to dry her tears. Chloe walks up to her when she leaves the stall, offering her a silver hairpin, which she claims Catherine dropped. Catherine denies that she did; Chloe says she wants her to keep it all the same.

Catherine quickly deduces that Chloe, who she has seen days before leaving an expensive hotel with another man, is an escort. She arranges a meeting between them and hires her to seduce her husband so she can confirm that he has been cheating on her with multiple women, leaving several, careful instructions. Chloe is to establish a relationship with David Stewart and report her meetings back to his wife without him finding out.

Chloe and Catherine meet again at a cafe, where Chloe explains her first meeting with David, claiming nothing happened. Catherine isn't comforted, however, because her husband deliberately approached Chloe. When asked how she can do what she does, Chloe gives us the second sign that she is developing feelings for Catherine after stating that she finds something to love in them, then adding that 'and then people like you walk into my life'. When Chloe receives her payment, Catherine asks her to meet with her husband one more time, just to see what he does.

The next time Chloe and Catherine meet is in a bar while she watches the rehearsal of the band 'Raised by Swans' (SHUT UP), where Catherine expresses her regret and asks Chloe to forget their agreement, reassured that she wants to save her relationship with her husband. Chloe tells her she's already met with him, however, so they move to another cafe where she can tell her the whole story. She explains that they kissed and hints towards more, but she's interrupted when Catherine shows some distress, deciding that she doesn't want to hear any more and that she should never have involved Chloe.

One her way to leave, Chloe gets on her bike and crashes on the slippery sidewalk. Catherine, witnessing this, takes care of the massive bruise on her knee. Chloe takes the chance to apologize and they spend the remainder of the evening together. Chloe tells Catherine the rest of the story in full detail; how she gave David a hand job before he had to leave to get back to his work. Catherine asks her to get tested for sexually transmittable diseases for what she'll ask Chloe to do next.

Chloe shows up at the clinic run by Catherine, where she meets her son, Michael, and approaches him deliberately to get to know him (and consequently Catherine) better. She then delivers the exam results to Catherine, who is reluctant to be seen with her in her workplace and in front of her son. She seems uncomfortable about Chloe and her son meeting as well, but Chloe interrupts her by saying that she's going to meet with her husband again in moments.

Later that day Chloe sends a text to her to arrange a meeting in the hotel room she supposedly spent the afternoon in with David. Catherine finds her there, alone and naked, just out of a shower. After she puts on a robe, Chloe proceeds to explain once again how their meeting went with every relevant detail of their sexual encounter. After the final payment, Chloe and Catherine head towards the elevator, where she asks Chloe about her perfume. She answers that it's a lotion, which she then proceeds to take out of her purse to place some of it on Catherine's wrists, while she vents about the relationship with her husband (with many 'he used to's in the sentences). When she asks Chloe if she's ever had that with anyone, she says yes. When Chloe asks Catherine if she still loves her husband, she says she doesn't know. She continues to vent until she finally breaks down in tears. It is at this time that Chloe comforts her, kissing her on the lips. Catherine interrupts the kiss saying she can't do it and walks away, leaving a frozen Chloe behind.

Catherine sees her again on that same day, though, later at night, appearing in the middle of a meeting with another client to bring her up to a hotel room, where she starts to undress Chloe and asks her how her husband did it. Apparently regretting her actions, Catherine walks away and sits on the bed, but Chloe approaches her again and undresses her in turn. AMANDA SEYFRIED AND JULIANNE MOORE HAVE A SEX SCENE

Catherine and Chloe catch a cab after that; Catherine leaves on her street and gives the cab driver enough money to drive Chloe to her home. Chloe gives her the hairpin again; this time she tells her that it used to belong to her mother, after which Catherine asks if she dropped in on purpose when they first met. Chloe confesses that she did it because she wanted to talk to her. Chloe then asks her if she wants to see her again; Catherine makes not-so-unsubtle hints she isn't interested in pursuing a relationship by dodging the question.

The following day Catherine, who was confronted by her husband about having an affair herself, finds that Chloe left a series of messages to the receptionist in her clinic and sent her an e-mail with a photograph of them together in bed naked. She calls Chloe only to find that she's in the waiting room already, holding a large bouquet of white flowers for her. The two sit down and Catherine apologizes; Chloe asks why; Catherine explains that they have taken their relationship as far as she wants it to go. Plainly speaking, she breaks up something that did not exist (except in Chloe's mind), explaining that it was nothing more than a business transaction, despite Chloe's claims towards something a lot more emotional as she breaks down in tears. A very distraught, shocked and hurt Chloe leaves the clinic, giving the audience a creepy, glassy-eyed look.

Chloe then decides to meet with Michael (Catherine's son) instead, finding out where he has hockey game by looking at his page on a social network. She offers him a 'Raised by Swans' album and makes a reference to his mother, who she saw in a picture on his page out of focus. This is creepy.

She leaves Catherine another message saying 'I just left him'; when Catherine calls her she says that her husband approached her again and that their relationship -- according to him -- has escalated into an emotional one. Catherine asks to meet her again.

Chloe arrives and sees that she's accompanied by her husband, who does not recognize Chloe. At all. It's at this point that we find out that all the stories she told Catherine about the affair with her husband were complete lies. This is creepier.

Shocked and in a quiet and controlled panic, Chloe quickly leaves the place and heads to Catherine's house, where she finds Michael alone. She asks him to show her around the house and to take her to his parents' room, where she finds the hairpin, smells it (creepier still) and proceeds to undress in front of him. They have creepy sex on his parent's bed (which is great for him, just creepy for the audience). She keeps his hands off her and looks around the room while she rides him, noticing and focusing on every thing owned by Catherine, even when Michael asks her to look at him.

Catherine arrives home a while after in a rush, surprised by Chloe and her son sleeping naked in her bed. She tells Michael to leave the room. Chloe immediately starts to lecture her, telling her that she can't just pay her to go away and that neither she nor Catherine's family are there to do what she wants only to be disposed of after. Catherine throws her son out of the room as the discussion escalates. A delusional Chloe pleads and bargains with Catherine until she tells her once again that she's sorry.

This seems to finally snap Chloe, who proceeds to claim that they created a world together and that she made Chloe fall in love with her on purpose. Chloe accidentally pierces her hand with her hairpin when Catherine grabs her wrists; she then presses the sharp tips against Catherine's neck, crying. Catherine asks her to tell her what she wants; Chloe answers she wants to be kissed. She complies, but when she catches the reflection of her son on the window behind Chloe, Catherine shoves her away in shame. The shove is a little to rough, though, and the window breaks off the frame with the impact. Chloe hangs on for seconds before she deliberately lets go, committing suicide. Which is a prime example of a massive cop-out plot ending.

Chloe will be ported to the City moments before hitting the ground.

PERSONALITY:
▌ sometimes she meets with couples, but rarely single women
she speaks a little japanese
(mc) asks her how she can do her work; she explains that she tries to find something to love in everybody, even if it's a small thing. makes herself generous, even when there's something she doesn't want to do. she thinks about what not to criticize.
she plays a genuine kind of innocence in the concern she shows for (mc), despite being very candid about what she does. she has mastered the art of emotional manipulation, seduction, subtle or not.
gentle, quiet, polite, unabashed, observant. not afraid to approach people and very selective about what she says and how she says it.
she likes music, particularly a band called raised by swans.
fashion sense, takes absolute care of herself. looks always impeccable.
it's practically obvious from the beginning of the movie that Chloe has feelings for MC, manipulating her through what she seems to believe is some sort of game into having sex with her. It becomes unclear whether this is an entirely deliberate manipulation, however, seeing as Chloe truly believes that her feelings are fully reciprocated at one point.
she manipulates and sees nothing wrong with having her way.
she claims that she hates the internet; nothing is private or real there.
she herself claims that she notices everything -- even a picture of mc in a picture of her son, where she's out of focus (but we all know that's just because she's obsessed).
"she's the one controlling and betraying people"
massive Oedipus complex with catherine goin' on
clearly not used to being rejected! or has some srs traumas with that (deleted scene about her mother) and is projecting it on catherine like whoa
WHY DID SHE KILL HERSELF... with a smile... idek

POWER:
▌ What is/are your character’s superpower(s)? If they have abilities in their canon source, please list them here. If they do not, please create some! Every character brought into the City must have at least one power, though this may be as useful or as useless as you wish. Please indicate which abilities are canon for your character and which are not.

Additionally, each character is permitted an upper limit of three separate powers. At our discretion, we may request that you reduce, readjust, or otherwise redefine your character’s powers in order to acclimate more readily to the game setting. Characters from more Eastern-style sources are to have their powers adapted to a Western setting - for example, characters from the series “Naruto” would turn their most prominent ninjutsu into the super-powers they receive upon arriving here.

[CHARACTER SAMPLES]
COMMUNITY POST (FIRST PERSON) SAMPLE: How your character will be addressing the game at large. This sample should follow the same rough format as Cape&Cowl proper - a first-person, text/audio/video-based, intentional post to an internet community. Preferably more than a paragraph in length, this sample is to show us your character's unique voice. If you can make us laugh or outright scare the pants off us, you’re doing a good job!

LOGS POST (THIRD PERSON) SAMPLE: The name of the game is introspection, folks. This sample will both showcase how you will play in the logs community, and how well you understand your character’s motivations, hopes, dreams, quirks, etc. This sample should be a bit longer than your first, and, again, make us cry, make us laugh, or make us never want to meet your character in a back alley and you’re doing a good job!

A note: In the cases of both first person and third person samples, we do NOT accept links to samples written at other games. If, however, you are a returning player applying for a character that you have played previously at Cape&Cowl, you are allowed to link to posts made by that character in this game.

FINAL NOTES ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER:
Is there anything else about your character that you feel we should know, that isn't covered in any of the earlier sections? This field is optional.
