Character History:

❝the sea fell in love with the sky and reflected her beauty upon his eye
but the sea's affection the sky did not convey, ignoring his declarations every day
until one night, determined to make one last try, he sent up waves and reached out for the sky
'please, dearest Sky, what can I do to make you mine?' when suddenly, five little stars began to shine
they shot out of the sky and fell into the earth for the sea to find and prove his worth
'find my stars and show them you are true, make them fall in love and I will love you.'❞

In a world where the Sky, Sea and Earth are entities ruling over realms of magic and the power of nature's balance, a quest has been cast. If the Sea is to fall into the Sky's graces, he must find the five stars -- The Sun, the Stone, the Thunder, the Shadow and the Bird, now in the shape of five women wearing necklaces that symbolize their hidden names -- and help them find their true love.

The Sea cannot leave his realm, so he used water and magic to build a helper that walks, talks and feels like other humans. Milen is born in the shape of a boy and given whatever knowledge the Sea acquired about their nature, walking an Earth very much like our own with a necklace of his own. He is well aware of his origins and his mission, tip-toeing around the rules of the quest and lurking among human societies.

Milen has his work cut out for him -- none of the stars know who they are or who they are meant to be. Not only does he have to find them, but he has to convince them to trust him and help them fall in love with someone else. Even if he succeeds with one star and searches for the next, there is no guarantee that the first will not change her mind or have her heart broken... resetting her memories, both of who they came to be and who they once loved.

Milen has many things to figure out for himself as well, learning and growing with every step he takes on the earth between the Sea and the Sky. Milen's necklace carries a medallion with a five-star constellation, shining whenever he is near a star, and keeping her respective mark brilliant when she is in love.

During his travels, the boy is found and aided by a human man: Tom Iason. He believes Milen is a lost boy with a clouded mind, but still listens to his stories with a level of fascination. He eventually finds some truth in Milen's beliefs and accompanies him in his journey. Riagán, a sixth star sent by the Sky to watch over the other five, acts as a quiet and hidden guardian in the form of a feline, sometimes bending the rules of the quest to clue him into a faster search.

But not everyone expects Milen to succeed...

❝but there are others playing a part in this quest
those who want to see Milen fail and lead the stars into deceit
for when the Earth heard about the little game between the Sky and the Sea
she decided to put poor little Milen to the test❞

The Earth creates three humans: Lucille, the impostor, who wears a false necklace and deceives Milen into believing she is one of the stars he is looking for; Béatrice, the liar, who goes behind the protagonist's back to fill the stars' ears with lies to lure them away; Siegfried, the seducer, who approaches the stars and leads them into falling in love with him, only to break their hearts afterwards.

And so Milen walks the long road before him, still unaware of the twists and turns awaiting the stargazer.

Personality:
Milen is innocent and inquisitive - in the sense that he's been placed in an unfamiliar and fascinating environment. He possesses enough knowledge to know how to act and feel like a human, but there is little else. There are many concepts and customs that he has yet to learn, with which he rarely has problems in expressing his doubts or obtaining answers.

Milen doesn't lie. He doesn't need to make use of the concept, unless it's used to keep his origins and quest a secret, still unsure of the rules implied in the latter. On that same note, he can come off as a secretive mumbler, either keeping his mouth shut or stumbling all over words to throw the inquirer off. Otherwise, Milen will be very talkative and friendly, having no problems in expressing his thoughts -- although he does have a proper brain to mouth filter.

Naive and optimistic, Milen is quick to consider anyone that shows him kindness a friend and place his trust on them, free of most pointers that would prompt discrimination in anyone else. That being said, the boy isn't completely blind to danger, but he will have a hard time changing his mind about someone he likes. Once he's hurt or threatened in any way, he'll have a hard time trusting that person.

Like his emotions, Milen's body language is very transparent. He will curl his fingers when he's anxious, press his lips together and lick them when he doesn't know what to say, arch and pinch his eyebrows as emotions differ during a conversation, look away when he's reluctant to answer a question, cross his arms and shake his leg when he's nervous, etc. He's also very open about his emotions and still hasn't grasped the concept of 'keeping it to yourself'. He'll be quite touchy-feely if and when he becomes comfortable enough with a friend.

Seeing as the quest to find the stars is the entire reason he was given sentience, Milen's mind is always set on the quest and the five stars. Most of the things he learns are taken in with contemplation and, most likely, some sort of train of thought that links it back to the quest. He will use whatever he can to take a step forward.

Extra:
Character Abilities: Milen is made entirely from magic, so that should send magic sensitive ... things in general into a WAHEY WHAT'S GOING ON OVER HERE. He isn't vulnerable to magic as much as he's conditioned by it, if that makes sense. He'll also be naturally drawn to water! And can both swim and breathe underwater with relative ease. Otherwise, he needs to eat and gets tired and bleeds just as much as the next person. Milen also spends a lot of time stargazing, but that's a given and not really an ability.
Possessions: The clothes on his back and the necklace mentioned previously!
