I am leaving my comment here. As another commenter said, you have portrayed Goldberry as quite an elemental figure, not just a pretty woman by a river. Lovely writing. Thanks for sharing,as always :)

Gorgeous photo :)

Aha, to be honest, I prefer comments here; it's easier if everything's in one place. But, oh well, comments are lovely wherever and it's lovely to hear you liked this! Goldberry in 'The Adventures of Tom Bombadil' does come across as something of a water sprite; and of course she's the River-Daughter and her washing day seemed to involve a bit more than washing the household linen, so I think there's a lot of space to play there. And that always appeals to me. Thank you for reading, as always!

(I'm glad you like the photo too. :D I was struck by your icon, which is beautiful!)

Thank you, I'm glad you found it so! And I have other photos like this one, so if I come back to the Withywindle again, more will probably come out of the vaults. :D

Thank you, that's lovely to hear! I was happy to have a chance to return to this wild Goldberry. And assonance, oh yessssss, I am totally addicted to assonance and alliteration and all those tricks. So glad you like it! :D
