on the road again...

so after reading about [my favourites] cold war kids' tour with the pink mountaintops and derrick brown...
i've just been thinking about how awesome it would really be to be on tour; playing in a band, playing your favourite songs, and with people you love to create music with.
it's what i'd want to do.
and it'd be great to play with the cold war kids. it'd be beyond amazing.

when i was reading the tour blog that derrick brown had written for the cwk, a couple of things hit me as being....just....*awww* [i can't descibe it in words right now.]

some of his tales from the road:

The people of Berlin are smart and active. Their city understands the need humans hunger and need for art. Berlin is lust.
[mental note: must go to berlin at some point.]

Someone kissed my cheek hard. She scurried up the stairs like Christmas and I never saw her again.
[seems like something you'd read about in a cheesy fiction book about some guy's life and how he realized life shouldn't be taken for granted...]

We tattooed a bunch of strange marker markings on some locals and each others arms and let the evening slip into the morning until it was time to board the big red bus into somewhere far from home.
[oh this life of glorified...]

Can you imagine trying to craft songs with some of your friends two years ago and BANG! now people in France are singing your songs back at you, full throttle?
[i can imagine this...]

Touring can make you brain dead, the time spent bouncing around in your coffin on the bus, the confusion in a new city, the feeling of being lost feels like you just stepped off of a Warping Delorean and just became an infant, an exhausted infant, so if you ever meet a band and someone is just nodding and saying “um...thank you, thank you so much, thank you” like an automaton, they aren’t being rude, they are blurred in the noise of the road. Kiss them. See what happens. Whiskey works too.
[teehee...]
