ING Referrals
Just got an e-mail from ING Direct that they're giving double referrer bonuses through March 31. New savings accounts get $25 upon funding, referrer gets $20.
I opened my account several years ago, funded it with a dollar, got the $25, and then forgot about it for a while. I've since used it as a windfall "emergency fund" account that I can fund with small auto deposits out of my paycheck, then ignore. It's a good true "emergency fund" account in that the money is there and easily accessible within a day or so if you need it, but removed enough from my standard checking/savings accounts that I can't just transfer money at whim and have it to spend on impulse.
Everything's legit, you can close the account when you get the $25 if you want, etc. If you'd like to open one or just think about it, all I need is an e-mail address to send out referrals. You can go from there. :)
