Doing a little LJ maintenance. I've too many people I don't read (thus precluding me from participating with and keeping up with the journals I do read), too many who've moved on to other blog forums, communities that are boring, and a need for communities that are interesting ( Read more... )

Well, I know my journal hasn't been very riveting lately, but I do enjoy reading your posts. I make liberal use of filters and change up my default view often.

Oh, no, you're stuck here if you're willing. :) I enjoy your posts, too -- your Grand Prix posts remind me of watching various motorsports with my parents and I hadn't heard about the Kermit Ruffins debaucle until your post!

Some of the journals I'm deleting have been...deleted by their owners. Others haven't been updated in so long that I had to go back to the profiles to figure out to whom they even belonged! Tsk!

LJ is a funny thing. I've been on here so long now that I have a strange mix of very old "friends" and very new ones, plus scores of "friends" who don't post anymore.

That Ruffins thing was a little overstated by the Nation blogger who posted it. Apparently, and this was called to my attention when I posted the story in neworleans, Bush directed the "pick up the trash" remark to the audience (there's a video showing this). Still, the incident does illustrate his general neglect of the whole Katrina recovery.
