Dammit. I think I killed my Osmanthus fragrans.

I was so happy when I found that plant. "YAY, it smells like APRICOTS! *buy*" And the fact that the tag said it was cold hardy to 10 degrees and evergreen just led me to plant it right in the ground next to the house. I didn't even really think too much about it and I certainly didn't go Google its performance in my USDA zone. Didn't think I needed to, what with Home Depot having it right there with the holly plants and the magnolias and the other evergreens.

But yeah, the leaves are dry and falling off of it. I didn't see any green on it anywhere, and Googling indicates that Zone 6b is a little iffy for it. I should have put it in a pot and brought it in, I bet. It didn't get *that* cold this winter -- I mean, it snowed a time or two, but that's not 10 degrees. And it was in a sheltered spot right up next to the house. Arrgh.

*kicks dirt*

Dammit.
