heh.  I don't buy lottery tickets, chances being about one in a zillion, i do though sometimes buy a raffle ticket for a good Cause.  This time, the Good Cause - the KGB Reading series - is associated with a friend of mine here on LJ, Ellen Datlow.   She blogged about it - and now it's my turn...

I decided I'm buying me some raffle tickets 'cause I want Neil Gaimen's keyboard.  Oh the power!  I imagine turning it upside down, shaking out the crumbs and feeling the power of the keys!   AND...
"Neil Gaiman is donating a computer keyboard he has previously used to write with. He will sign it to the winner in any way they like."
I'm personally planning on winning that.
I mean, goodness me.  Any way I like?  mwhahaha...  I can think of a few things I'd have that fellow write for me.

Seriously though, if I won it, I'd probably give it to
cinnabari since she's a big fan.   Course it probably won't work on her Mac... so she'd then just have to frame it, right? heh.  I would make sure it  was signed  in some particularly spectacular fashion.  Any suggestions??

But there is a lot of cool, neato stuff up for raffle.  There are some critiques up for raffle, some lovely pieces of art, First editions of books (I owned a copy of this once.. but unsigned).  There's a Micheal Swanwick Story in a bottle, and some more amazing donations.  Stuff that is probably worth gold!  There's manuscripts, subscriptions, signed copies of works, special items and more.

Anyway, should I ever get the chance to go to NYC, you bet I'm going to try and catch the reading series.  It would be great if it was still running. Wouldn't you like to go?  I  believe the money  goes  towards funding the authors who  are reading with Free Liquor and all-night dancers.  ;)    Okay, it probably doesn't but if you are a writer, you can dream!

Since Ellen's been a big support of my work, as well, I donated one of my cyberpunk Vacuum Tube necklaces.  At least it will be in good company.  Since I expect everyone will be buying tickets for the Wormhole, the special Ray Bradbury signed edition, etc, I figure you might get good odds on the necklace.

Full list of the items up for raffle here...
check it out!  Don't you dare buy too many tickets for the keyboard though.  that would just be competing with Cinnabari.  And trust me, you don't want to mess with her.
