I've seen it Josie and I also recently read the book too. The basic "idea" of the ending is the exact same. What happens to Henry is the same. The final scene between Henry and Claire is slightly different but still had me SOBBING like a baby.

So good! I hope you enjoy it. I think they did what they could with a very confusing (at times) story and Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams are just lovely playing Henry and Claire :)

Enjoy!

Edited to say that I hope I didn't say too much but if you've read the book it's nothing too spoiler-ish.

Oh good! I had a feeling that no matter what happened, I'd cry. And I also thought... That what might end up happening is me loving the film and the book but as very separate entities. I have to wait to watch it. =/ Stupid cinema.

Tell me what percentage of it reminds you of Journeyman.

I actually liked the ending of the movie a lot better than the book.

I had issues with the book after the intrigue of the time travel wore off. One of them was Clare having no personality outside of Henry. I just thought it was pathetic that she waited her entire life for one glimpse of him (and this is coming from a hopelessly romantic sap like me.)

I thought the movie people did really well with what they had to work with, and Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams were perfect for their roles.

Oh really??

I did find that sometimes it was too focussed on Henry-- considering the title and all. I just wanted Clare to have her own story. Her own something to tell. Not just about Henry. But hey, this is me reaching for critique. This is the feminist in me defying social roles and wanting Clare to have her own life. And while I loved the idea of her waiting... I thought it was intense and wonderful. I still can't help but wonder just how lonely she is, waiting for him. For ever.

It was always going to be a difficult book to translate to film. And I can't wait to see their performances. I have to admit, I think she is sort of perfect, and I'll decide on him when I see it- but I love him. So he'd have to be abysmal. haha.

Random thought: I saw The Ugly Truth today. And wanted to squee over Gerard Butler. Your name came into my head. haha. UGH. The man is gorgeous. =P In everything. Today just reminded me why.
